The Military High Command on Thursday disclosed that its troops, in ongoing operations against insurgent activities, recovered two calibrated aircraft engines from a long-unidentified aircraft crash site in Borno State.
The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, revealed this while updating Defence Correspondents on the progress of ongoing operations against insurgent activities carried out by the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies across various theaters of operation.
He added that the gallant troops neutralized 75 terrorists, arrested 138 suspects, and rescued 46 hostages in the last two weeks.
According to him, “Two calibrated aircraft engines from a long-unidentified aircraft crash site, one double-barrel cannon gun, and 16 missiles were also recovered.”
Additionally, he stated that troops arrested 36 suspected oil thieves and recovered stolen products worth ₦646,189,690.00.

He further reported that, within the period under review, troops recovered 104 assorted weapons and 2,639 rounds of ammunition.
According to him, the recovered weapons included 55 AK-47 rifles, 20 locally fabricated guns, eight dane guns, 18 pump-action guns, 1,826 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 376 rounds of 7.62mm NATO, 366 rounds of 12.7mm ammunition, 26 cartridges, as well as 14 other assorted firearms and 45 rounds of assorted ammunition.
“In the Niger Delta, troops recovered 497,152 liters of stolen crude oil, 142,000 liters of illegally refined AGO, and 4,075 liters of PMS.
“Furthermore, the troops discovered and destroyed 164 crude oil cooking ovens, 37 dugout pits, 19 boats, 16 storage tanks, 38 drums, and 42 illegal refining sites.
“Other items recovered during the period include three pumping machines, four tricycles, seven motorcycles, five mobile phones, and three vehicles, among others.”
