The Northern Elders Progressive Forum (NEPF) has commended the ongoing efforts of the Senator representing Kaduna Central in the Senate, Senator Lawal Usman Adamu (Mr. La), towards securing a socio-political atmosphere in Kaduna State.
The Forum’s commendation comes a few days after the lawmaker met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to seek his presidential intervention in the fight against insecurity and banditry challenges that have bedeviled some parts of the North.
This was contained in a statement issued by the North West coordinator of the forum, Dr. Usman Sani, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Monday.
The Forum expressed its delight at the efforts made by the lawmaker to secure his constituency, Kaduna Central, in particular, where many innocent children and people have been kidnapped by suspected bandits in the entire North West.
It said the recent two-hour meeting with President Tinubu and the Senator in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, was not only fruitful but also a great sacrifice for the people of Kaduna and the Northwest, despite their political differences.
The group, while appreciating the fatherly concern of President Tinubu, implored him to urgently extend the frontiers of cooperation with other stakeholders through collaboration towards achieving greater goals in the fight against banditry and criminal elements who have surrounded innocent Nigerians, especially in the Northwestern part of the country.
“The recent meeting between Mr. President and Senator Lawal Usman Adamu to discuss and find a permanent solution against rampant kidnapping, attacks, and other insecurity challenges in Kaduna and the north is one of the best efforts so far undertaken by any politician in the region.
“Such a singular effort is highly commendable, supportive, and wise in saving many lives and properties of our people against bandits.
