The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) high command on Monday disclosed that gallant troops under Operation FASAN YAMMA had killed several terrorist kingpins and bandits in a coordinated air and ground assault on Makakkari Forest in Zamfara State.
This was contained in a statement made available to defence correspondents in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
It explained that the airstrike was conducted on Sunday after intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) had confirmed the movement of over 400 bandits planning to invade a farming community in the area.
According to it, “The operation involved precision airstrikes and ground assaults, resulting in the deaths of several notorious kingpins and scores of their foot soldiers.
“The synergy between air and land components made the operation exceptional.”
