…keep mum after exiting from 2-hour meeting
The 36 state governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) Wednesday night met with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, to discuss the ongoing insecurity challenges across the country.
The meeting, presided over by the NGF Chairman, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, lasted for about two hours.
This is coming on the heels of unabated cases of bandit attacks and kidnapping, which led to the death of hundreds of citizens, including women and children, especially in Benue and Plateau States, respectively.
After exiting the meeting, efforts made by NGF Correspondents to speak on the issues discussed during the closed-door session proved abortive as the Chief of Defence Staff declined comment.
Some of the governors who attended the meeting include: Borno, Ekiti, Adamawa, Kaduna, Bayelsa, Gombe, Ogun, Imo, Oyo, Ondo, Benue, Nasarawa, and Plateau, alongside the deputy governors of Niger, Enugu, and Bauchi.
Also, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Ahmed Dangiwa, is also expected to brief the state governors on some of the present administration’s policies within the sector.
