The Minister of State for Defense, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has announced the deployment of 1,000 naval officers to Maradun as part of efforts to end insecurity in the state.
Addressing the people of Maradun during his visit to Zamfara State today, Matawalle stated that a letter to that effect has already been sent to the state government for further action.
“We have deployed 1,000 naval officers to Zamfara as part of our determination to fight banditry in the state,” he said.
He added that the federal government is requesting the state government to accommodate the naval officers in the RUGA area.
Matawalle also directed the military base in Maradun to facilitate the reopening of the Maradun-Magami-Faru road as well as the Gora-Jambako to Kaya axis.

“I have given directives to the military base in Maradun to work diligently to clear bandits from the area without further delay,” Matawalle asserted.
The minister further announced that the federal government plans to construct a state-of-the-art hospital in Maradun town.
Matawalle described President Bola Tinubu as a visionary leader committed to moving the country forward for the betterment of the common man.
He urged the people of Zamfara to rally behind Tinubu’s administration and continue to pray for its success.
