Ahead of the Nation’s 57th Independent Celebration, the Commissioner of Police, in Charge of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT,Abuja, Command, CP Sadiq Abubakar Bello on Friday warned hoodlums, miscreants and would be troublemakers to keep off ‎ the nation’s capital city and its environments, declaring the area as “danger and security zone” for now.
Speaking with Newsmen in Abuja yesterday after the security meeting with other sister security agencies and the various stakeholders in the command over the security challenges arising from the counter and counter threats from different quarters ahead of the independent Day, Bello allayed the fears  of the residents of any threat ‎to the Security of lives and properties in the city.
Bello made it clear that the Police in Collaboration with other sister security agencies has mapped out various strategies to secure the Command before, during and after the celebration.
The CP who was flanked by religious and traditional rulers, as well as the representatives of other security agencies, therefore urged the residents including the foreigners to go about their normal daily activities without fear of molestation as security Agencies were fully prepared for any eventuality.
He equally called on the residents and fun seekers to feel free to go to amusement parks and other places of interest during the celebration, saying that the entire Command had been satisfied to be free of insecurity.
Bello, however, appealed to religious and traditional Rulers as well as Community leaders to enlighten their people on the need for peaceful co-existence among with other tribes and religious, advising them also to cooperate with the security agencies by reporting suspicious moments or people in their environments prompt at the nearest police station to them.
