The Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has collaborated with other security agencies to implement a comprehensive security strategy to ensure the protection of lives and properties across the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State.

In a statement issued on Monday in Owerri by the Imo State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, he mentioned that this is in preparation for the 2024 Independence Day celebrations in the state.

The Police spokesman said that the initiative aims to ensure a safe and peaceful observance throughout the state.

He also mentioned that joint patrols and confidence-building measures are actively underway as part of this strategy by the command.

Okoye pointed out that these operations are designed to deter criminal activities, and reassured citizens that they can go about their daily lives without fear.

In response to recent threats from the IPOB/ESN group, he said that the Police Command has established robust security measures to address any potential risks.

He encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station, adding that this will go a long way in reinforcing their shared commitment to community safety.

While extending his warm greetings to citizens on the 64th anniversary of the nation’s independence, the CP Danjuma called on everyone to join in prayers for peace and to actively contribute to the unity and development of the nation, fostering an environment that promotes economic growth and prosperity.
