THE Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), on Wednesday, granted scholarship to a 15 year-old Miss Elizabeth Elijah, who was hit and injured in the leg by fragments of the ill-fated F-7Ni aircraft, belonging to Nigeria Air Force (NAF) during the just concluded acrobatic displace as part of activities marking the 58th Independence Anniversary.
The victim, who hails from Kachia area of Kaduna State, but resides with her family in Chikoko village in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was handed a scholarship form for proper documentation by the Director of FCT Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr Adamu Noma.
Other representatives of FCT administration were Director, FCT Scholarship Board and Head of FCT Call Centre who visited the girl in Maitama General Hospital, Abuja.
According to UBEC director, FCT administration has decided to take care of all expenses for her education. The scholarship will take care of all her schooling. As soon as she is discharged from the hospital, the scholarship will commence.

âThe FCT administration granted her scholarship to university level and that they will be ready to foot her bills for as long as she can go in educational pursuit.â He stated.
It was gathered that Miss Elijah finished primary six in Chikoko, but has been out of school for about five years now due to the inability of her poor father to send her to secondary school.
Nigerian Tribune further gathered that her father could not afford transport fare from the village to see her in the hospital since the incident occurred.
She was said to be on the farm that fateful day when the ill-fated NAF aircraft mishap happened and she was hit by flying debris from the fighter jet.
He said the FCT administration would be responsible for her tuition, books uniform, foot wears and any other things needed in school.
It will be recalled that the air mishap crashed killed the Pilot, a Squadron Leader in the Nigeria Airforce, Bello Muhammed Baba Ari was taking part in a NAF rehearsal in Abuja, for the celebration of Nigeria’s 58th Independence anniversary.
