The Chairman Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Imo, Mr Chima Chukwunyere has proffered reasons for engaging in school campaigns against crime and cultism in Imo and Abia, respectively.
Chukwunyere disclosed this on Wednesday in Owerri when he led other executive members on a courtesy visit to their patron Prince Charles Amadi.
He informed the patron that Imo PCRC has covered 67 schools in the State including Ngwa High School in Abia State and some communities.
While describing PCRC as the closest ally of the Police, he assured their duty to ensure a cordial relationship between Imolites and the Police.
The body commended and expressed their appreciation to their patron Prince Charles Amadi for his time and money in the construction of the male PCRC Transit camp for Policemen on transfer and special duties.
They also commended him for donating 45 pieces of matres to the transit camp he assisted in completing and donating to the Police officers.
The PCRC chairman recalled that in 2016, they received the Gold Star award from the national as the best in the country because they operate rigidly in line with the vision.
He said: “Our abulance services, helped many accident victims and pregnant women but the van donated by our Patron, Chief Zanders Kennedy has parked up”.
According to him the PCRC hour in Zanders FM every Saturday, courtesy of their Patron Chief Zanders Kennedy is second to none, adding that in the last 10 years, he has covered 28,800 minutes or 480 hours .
The body made compassionate appeal to Governor Hope Uzodinma, for donation of bus to support their campaign.
They pleaded with Patrin to use his good offices in their relationship with the government and convince his excellence to fulfill his promise.
Chukwunyere assured that PCRC will launch back into their school campaign as soon as they receive the bus from the governor.
Receiving the executive members, the PCRC patron, Prince Charles Amadi commended in a special way the state chairman of PCRC Chima Chukwunyere for the good way and manner he has been piloting the affairs of the committee.
While assuring to continue his philanthropic gesture, he appealed to the PCRC not to relent in his effort to take the committee to a higher level.
