Aneke Chidera Samuel, known artistically as HUZIEL, is poised to make his mark on the music scene with the upcoming release of his debut EP, “Pigments of the Story.” For HUZIEL, music isn’t just a career choice; it’s an intrinsic part of his being, a lifelong companion that has shaped his path from childhood to the present day.
His musical journey began in the heart of a Christian family deeply rooted in music. Growing up in a home where instruments were readily available, thanks to his grandfather’s role in establishing the first indigenous church in his village, HUZIEL’s passion for music ignited early. He started playing drums at the age of seven, and by secondary school, he had mastered the keys and lead guitar.
His exploration didn’t stop there; in his second year of university, HUZIEL delved into music production, honing his skills and solidifying his commitment to a life immersed in sound. Despite dropping out of university in his 300-level in 2021, HUZIEL remained steadfast in his pursuit of music as a full-time career, driven by a sense of purpose and a lack of alternative talents.
HUZIEL describes his music as both generic and honest, a reflection of his desire to connect with listeners on a universal level while staying true to his personal experiences. For HUZIEL, music serves as a means of self-expression, a way to articulate his thoughts, emotions, and observations about the world around him.
With “Pigments of the Story,” HUZIEL invites listeners to delve into his world, to understand his perspective, and to form their own impressions of him as an artist. Ultimately, HUZIEL hopes to leave a lasting legacy through his music, to be remembered as someone who fearlessly spoke his truth and shared it with the world.
