I’m not desperate for position — Ex-Kogi Speaker, Kolawole

Published by

The former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole has said that God is the only one who gives position and he would never be desperate for any political position.

Reacting to a publication by a group, known as Okun Unity and Progressive Group (OUPG) titled “Your Desperation To Become Kogi SSG Dead on Arrival, Group Expose Ex-Speaker Kolawole”, Prince Kolawole, noted that when he was a Speaker and up till this period, he sees the Secretary to Kogi State Government, Dr. Mrs. Folashade Arike Ayoade as his sister, saying that he will continue to give her that respect.

“When she was reappointed, I congratulated her for her appointment. She is a sister to me and see no reason people will just sit down and write negative things about me,” he said.

According to him, he appreciates the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for reappointing Dr (Mrs) Folashade as the Secretary to Kogi State Government stressing that people should disregard any publication, noting that such publication did not emanate from him.

He posited that he will continue to be loyal to the present administration of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and also appreciate the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who gave him the opportunity to serve the state in his capacity then as speaker.

He therefore called on the people of Kogi West to disregard any negative comment or publication stressing that he would never sponsor any story against anybody.

“This is the work of my political enemies and mischief makers. When it is time Almighty God will surely answer me. I will never be desperate for any political positions, is only God that gives,” he said.
