Indigenes of Ilorin Emirate in the five local government areas of Kwara State, together with people from various backgrounds have made public presentation of a book, entitled, ‘Ilorin Emirate’s frontliners’, aimed at promoting the community and its people.
Speaking during the book launch, president of Ilorin Emirate Elites Forum (IEEF), a sociopolitical organisation, Alhaji Uthman Mohammed, said the book is a documentation and celebration of careers, achievements and contributions of over 300 distinguished individuals from the emirate.
He also said the book aims to underscore contributions of the emirate to national and human development, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations to emulate.
Mohammed explained that the motivation of the author, Mallam Abubakar Imam, who is the national secretary of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), stemmed from the desire to preserve and highlight the careers and contributions of selected accomplished individuals from Ilorin Emirate.
