GOVERNORSHIP candidate of Ogun State chapter of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Olatunde Rotimi Paseda, has expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious in 2019 general elections, promising to work with other young Nigerians to turn around the fortune of the state if voted into office as governor, come 2019.
Paseda made this promise in Ijebu- Ode while speaking at a ceremony put together in honour of a Constitutional Lawyer, Author, Youth Advocate and Public Affairs Commentator, Mr Adekunle Osibogun, who recently clinched the ticket of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) to represent Ijebu Central Federal Constituency of Ogun State in the House of Representatives.
The event was organised by the Kunle Osibogun Campaign Organisation (KOCO) to welcome Osibogun back to home after his victory at the shadow poll.
The SDP gubernatorial candidate, who was represented by his Campaign Deputy Director General, Mrs Yemi Layeni, who spoke glowingly about Osibogun, described him as someone full of talents, saying he would be ready to partner him for the benefit of the state in particular and Nigeria in general.

He described Osibogun as an asset and a young Nigerian ready to serve his fatherland, calling on the people to vote for him to enable him represent the state at the House of Representatives and bring back the dividends of democracy to the state.
He, therefore, enjoined the people to shun violence and vote selling, declaring that SDP were loaded with candidates to beat across the state.
Also speaking, Alhaji Adesanwo Maseka, a respectable Ijebu leader, hailed the emergence of Osibogun as SDP candidate for Ijebu Central for the House of Representatives, describing as him “easy going, agile and learned.”
This was just as he admonished the people of Ijebu Central to unite against looters and those that do not mean well for Ijebu land and Nigeria at large as the country prepare for another transition period.
The Ogun State Women Leader of SDP, Mrs. Cynthia Ogbonaya, who pledged the support of all women in the party to Osibogun, urged the candidate not to join the calibre of politicians who relegated women to the “kitchen” after clinching power.
In his welcome address, the Director General, KOCO Movement, Prince George Badejo, thanked all members of SDP and the movement across the three Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Ijebu Central Federal Constituency for their love and support since what he called “struggle for Ijebu Liberation” commenced few months ago.
He promised on behalf of the campaign organisation never to let the people of the constituency down if Osibogun won the election.
In his own remarks, Osibogun who is the Convener of Young Progressive Nigerian Initiatives (YPNI), a non-profit organisation promoting entrepreneurship and citizenship studies among the youth of Ijebu and Nigeria in general, thanked the KOCO movement for the warm reception and love showered on him.
He urged them not to relent in their efforts to have quality representation and good governance in Ijebu Central and the state in general.
The Young Politician who is the son of Chairman and CEO of Space FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, Otunba ‘Deji Osibogun said he decided to join politics because of the condition he met Ijebu Land after returning from his sojourn abroad.
“I came home after my sojourn abroad and found out that Ijebu was the way I left it. No infrastructural development, no investment in the people. Let me promise here today before man and God that Ijebu land will undergo a never-seen-before human capital development with people oriented agenda if I am elected next year.
“I say today with all humility that what belongs to my constituents will get to the people if you send me to Abuja. The healthcare of the people shall be paramount to me. I will work with the state government to ensure that every Ijebu child has free and quality education up to secondary school level and by the grace of God and with your support, our youths, like we have been doing at YPNI, shall be trained and exposed to entrepreneurial skills so that they can be self reliance.
“And more importantly, I will join other like-minds to ensure the socio-political and economic restructuring of the nation of Nigeria come to reality so that we can all have a true federal system as against the present unitary system masquerading as federalism,” he said.
