The Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has reassured the people of the state that his administration would complete all ongoing projects across the state before the end of his tenure.

The governor gave the reassurance while addressing the people of Yewaland during this year’s Oronna Ilaro Festival at Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Empire Ground, Ilaro.

Senator Amosun, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa, pointed out that the state government would soon embark on the construction and rehabilitation of rural roads across the state.

Speaking earlier, the Olu of Ilaro and paramount ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, thanked the state governor for his efforts at providing social infrastructural and conducive environment across the state.

Oba Olugbenle, who is also the Chairman of the state council of obas, assured the gathering that the Amosun government would fulfill all promises made to the people of the area, just as he urged them to continue to support government towards achieving success and development of the area.

The royal father enjoined the entire residents of Yewa to consider the festival as an opportunity to come together and reconcile differences towards the development of the community.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman of Yewa South Local Government Area, Mr Obafemi Edun, said his administration would look into some of the challenges of the community, assuring that rural roads in the area would be graded to enhance easy transportation of farm produce from the hinterland into major towns.

In his remarks, the chairman of the central planning committee of the event, Alhaji Rafiu Akinola, pointed out that this year’s Oronna Ilaro Festival was the fifth edition since the ascension to the throne of Oba Olugbenle and the 23th edition of its introduction.

He further said that the festival was an opportunity for them to sustain the bond that united the people of Yewaland and foster the link of brotherliness that had brought them so far as an indivisible people under the reign of the Olu of Ilaro.
