Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government Area of Ogun State, Dare Alebiosu, has sworn in 57 newly appointed consultants, senior political assistants, and political assistants to the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The swearing-in ceremony held at the local government secretariat, Itoro, Ijebu-Ode, brought together political stakeholders and party faithful from across the council area.
In his address, Alebiosu said the appointments reflect the confidence reposed in grassroots leaders with proven integrity, community ties, and relevance, stressing that the roles were not ceremonial but key to bridging the gap between government and the people.
“As Consultants, Senior Political Assistants, and Political Assistants, you are expected to represent the interests of our governor and our political party. Your responsibilities include gathering feedback, monitoring community needs, and mobilising support for the implementation of state policies and programmes,” Alebiosu said.
He urged the appointees to demonstrate loyalty, discipline, and exemplary conduct, adding that they are ambassadors of good governance in the local government area.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Olakitan Oduwole, Chairman of Ward 3, Ijebu-Ode, expressed gratitude to Governor Abiodun and assured that the new aides would contribute meaningfully to the administration’s success.
He said the appointments will serve as motivation for greater grassroots engagement and support for the government.
Nigerian Tribune learnt that the 57 appointees were drawn from all 11 wards in the local government area, which included ward chairmen, women leaders, youth leaders and ward secretaries.
