Ighodalo to PDP leaders: My nomination will bring developments to Edo

Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant for the forthcoming election in Edo State, has assured party leaders and people of Oredo local government area of his readiness to develop the state if elected, urging them to nominate aspirant with proven capacity.

He gave the advice while addressing party’s leaders and members of the council area as part of his ongoing state-wide tour on Tuesday in Benin City, the state capital.

Ighodalo further advised the people to reject aspirants with no track records of development in order not to nominate an incapable candidate for the September 21 governorship poll.

The PDP guber aspirant added that in terms of capacity, development and experience, he stands tall amongst other aspirants for the election, adding that he should be nominated to fly the party flag in the election.

Ighodalo assured the people of Oredo local government area of qualitative and people-centric governance if elected into office.

Ighodalo said, “If you nominate me as PDP candidate and by the grace of God, I become the governor of Edo State, I will bring more development to Oredo and make it great in terms of development.

“This is because Oredo over the years has remained the heartbeat of Edo State and by extension, Nigeria. My administration, if elected into office with your support, will transform Edo State to become the number state in Africa in the area of all round development.

“We must Join hands together to make Edo greater as one individual can not do it alone. the issue of security will be given priority in the state because without security, there will not be meaningful development in Edo.”

Continuing, he said, “Without security, investors will not come to the state. I want to use this opportunity to beg our youths to stop fighting or killing each other as we are one people. We must secure lives and property in Edo State. It is when we are secured that we can get jobs and develop.

“When you see a stranger with questionable character, report such a person to the security agency because collectively, we must secure our state as security agencies can not do it alone.

“Please, let us nominate the aspirant that can develop Edo State. Someone with proven track records and has the capacity. Not one that will be coming to experiment with the state and this is where I stand tall amongst other aspirants for this election”, he submitted

Responding on behalf of the PDP leaders and members in Oredo local government area, a chieftain of the party, Chief Osaro Idah, the Obazelu of Benin, disclosed that the people in the locality have adopted Ighodalo as their sole aspirant for the election.

He said that the people have resolved to work for the actualisation of the aspirant’s governorship bid, adding that, “Oredo Local Government Area is hundred percent for Dr. Asue Ighodalo.

“We are going to support and work for Ighodalo to become the next governor of Edo State. The leaders and members of PDP in Oredo have adopted you Dr. Asue Ighodalo as our sole aspirant for the governorship election in Edo”, he assured.
