THE Inspector-General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, has stressed the need for moral re-evaluation among policemen in the country, saying this is the only way members of the public will give them the maximum support and cooperation.
Adamu stated this on Tuesday during his parley with officers and men of the Oyo State police command.
The police boss said for the Force’s community policing initiative to work, there was a need for policemen to discharge their duties with the fear of God.

Represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Research and Planning, Mr Peter Babatunde Ogunyanwo, the Inspector General charged policemen to start reappraising themselves every day in order to know how to put in their best to what they are doing.
“We should always look for ways through which we can discharge of service effectively to members of the public.
“It is when we do those things that are required of us that members of the public can have confidence in us,” the IG said.
While also speaking, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 11, Mr Leye Oyebade, briefed the IG on the successes recorded in the zone, and particularly in Oyo State.
