A council member of the Ibadan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mr Segun Bolaji, has been elected as the West Africa Coordinator of World Entrepreneurship And Investment Forum (WEIF).
Bolaji was elected during an election held virtually of which result was announced on Tuesday.
While reacting, Bolaji, who is the Managing Director, S. Adiss Agricultural Engineering Limited and Deputy National Coordinator, NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs (NYE), expressed delight on his new role, stating that it is a call to serve.
He further noted that: “As the West Africa Coordinator of WEIF, the core mandates of myself and members of my team will be how we will position our entrepreneurs in West Africa for global competitiveness.
“We will encourage continental trade through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) amongst our members. We will also be working with some global funding organisations on how we can set up an accelection to pull up funds to support our entrepreneurs within West Africa and Africa as a whole.”
Meanwhile, Ibadan Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, has congratulated Bolaji, who is the current Treasurer 2 of the Chamber on his new role as the West Africa Coordinator of World Entrepreneurship And Investment Forum (WEIF). The leadership of the chamber in a congratulatory message to him wished him a successful tenure.
