Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2024 Edo State governorship election, Dr Asue Ighodalo, has denounced claims that he has resigned his membership of the party.
Speaking through the Team Asue Media Organization (TAMO), Ighodalo described reports of his exit of the PDP which were contained in a circulating video as baseless fabrication.
According to a short statement issued and signed by the director general of TAMO, Erhabor Emokpae, on Monday, August 4, 2025, the false claims were aimed at misleading the public ahead of the August 16 bye-elections.

“The attention of Team Asue Media Organisation (TAMO) has been drawn to a video circulating online alleging that Dr. Asue Ighodalo has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
“This claim is false. Dr. Ighodalo remains a member of the PDP. We urge the public to disregard this baseless fabrication and the mischief behind it, which is aimed at misleading our supporters ahead of the National Assembly by-elections scheduled for later this month.
“Dr. Ighodalo remains focused on his vision for a prosperous and safe Edo, and on strengthening the PDP as a platform that truly protects the interests of the people,” the statement read.
