Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has showered heartfelt prayers on her daughter, Priscilla Ojo, during her baby shower ceremony in Canada, declaring unwavering hope for a lasting and successful marriage for the expectant mother.
The emotional moment came after the public revelation of Priscilla’s pregnancy with Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
In a video shared from the event, a visibly emotional Iyabo spoke passionately about her daughter’s future, invoking her own life experience.
“Priscilla, your marriage will work. You will grow old with your husband because in God you have married right. If mine did not work, yours will work, for I have paid that sacrifice for yours to work,” she declared.
The actress, reflecting on past criticisms about her family choices and the grandeur of the wedding ceremony, addressed the burden many mothers silently bear.

She urged fellow mothers to stand firm in supporting their children’s happiness, regardless of societal expectations.
“I want to use this to encourage a lot of mothers out there. We go through a lot. When people saw the wedding, they were like, ‘Iyabo, why this and that?’ But for me to be here today, I made the decision, whether good or bad, it is my burden to carry. And I will never deprive my children of their blessings, no matter the situation,” she said.
Iyabo concluded her remarks on a spiritual note, touching on the importance of confronting inherited challenges and making deliberate choices to build a better future.
“There’s something called ancestral curses; for you to break it, you must stop it,” she added.
