I have not decided on Edo APC chairmanship ― Inegbeneki

Ahead of the October 2 Edo State congress of the All Progressives Congress (APC), a chieftain of the party, Chief Francis Inegbeneki has said that he is yet to make up his mind to contest for the state chairmanship of the party.

Speaking when some top APC leaders visited him in his Benin City residence to beg him to contest for the state chairman of the ruling party, Chief inegbeneki said that he was still consulting with party faithful and other leaders who have the final say.

Inegbeneki said it is the political leaders from across the 18 Local Government Councils that will decide his next move and pledged to be available to serve his people if need be.

He said: “If given the opportunity to serve as the state chairman, I will rebuild and rebrand the party ahead of 2023. I will reconcile all the members in the state.”

He remarked that the rumored defection of former President Goodluck Jonathan and the defection of former minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani Kayode to the ruling APC is an indication that the People’s Democratic Party
(PDP) has lost touch with Nigerians.

Inegbeneki said: “The gale of defection across the country from PDP to the APC and the internal crisis rocking the main opposition party showed that the ruling party was waxing stronger and another testimony that the PDP has lost touch with political reality.”

While expressing his unalloyed support for the APC ahead of the state congress, Inegbeneki urged all members of the APC to remain steadfast and restrategise in her efforts to reclaim Edo state in future elections.

He called on the Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki to respect the rule of law and properly inaugurate the House of Assembly and also constitute the state executive council in line with Section 192 of the Constitution.

Unknowing to her, Mixing bleach with toilet cleaner creates a poisonous gas that can cause adverse health reactions, including death.

“After the mixture, I started feeling a burning sensation in my throat and I had to leave the room because the odour was really bad too,” she said.
