Rishi Sunak announced his resignation as UK Prime Minister in an emotional statement, expressing his pride in having served the country while acknowledging the clear message sent by the public.

The announcement came via a tweet on Sunak’s official Twitter account, where he expressed his gratitude for having served in what he termed “the best country in the world.”

Sunak’s resignation message read: “I have given this job my all. But you have sent a clear message, and yours is the only judgement that matters.

“This is a difficult day, but I leave this job honoured to have been Prime Minister of the best country in the world.”
