Hunter kills one, injures two others in Lagos

A 28-year-old hunter, simply identified as James has been arrested for killing one person and injuring two others with a double-barrel gun in Lagos.

The circumstances surrounding the killing could not be ascertained as at the time of filling this report but the injured persons are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Lagos State Police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest of the hunter to the Nigerian Tribune.

The police spokesperson stated that ” On 08/09/2024 ,at about 16:10 hours information was received that one James ,aged 28 years old ,who is a member of the Nigerian Hunter and Forest  Security Service mistakenly fired one Toheeb Adebowale  ,aged 18 years old with his double barrel gun .”

It was gathered that the deceased Toheeb was rushed to the Ifako Ijaiye General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

Two other persons were also injured in the gun accident and they are receiving treatment at the Ikeja General Hospital.

Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police said that the scene of the incident had been visited by detectives of the state police command.

The police image maker said; “The photographs of the scene had been taken, double barrel gun recovered and the suspect has been arrested”.
