Times have passed when students were given one or two questions as homework in order to have a very deep understanding of the topic. Nowadays, even pupils go home with several pages of homework on difficult subjects after the day’s classes let alone students in the secondary school. Whenever my teacher gives me homework, no matter how much they are, the first thing I do is that I carefully study the examples given in class to solve the questions. The number of assignments given to us daily ranges from one to four subjects but I do not get angry because they help me become more brilliant as I work on the questions. Nobody helps me to do my homework but I seek assistance from my mother on the difficult ones. I hardly seek help on Mathematics, English Language and Christian Religious Studies.

We have about five assignments during the week but more on weekends. However, I do not wait until I get home before doing them especially during the week so that I would not have to rush or return any undone. Therefore, I employ the system of using my free time to do some while I do others later. With this style of doing my assignments, I have less work to do when I get back home except the ones I need the internet to do at home.

I usually have two homework of about two to three pages every day and I try to do them, though they might be tiring sometimes especially when the questions are much and not easy to solve. My mummy is a teacher so she encourages me to attempt solving the questions by myself until I have tried my best and do not get answers.

Now that I am in J.S.S 1, my assignments are plenty compared to my primary school days. I do not have time to do my assignments in school because I am engaged in extra lesson between 3 and 4p.m. and I take time to relax afterward. So I do the assignments when I get home. I am very good at solving Mathematics questions but I ask goggle other difficult questions.

We usually have more homework on Fridays but sometimes during the week, I have as much as 2 to 3 pages of assignments from a textbook. Well, some are hard questions while others are simple to answer. I have no choice than to do them in order not to get punished and for me to understand the topic very well. Each time I come across difficult question, I check the examples done in class or call my elder sister to explain to me.
My school closes at 3 O’clock so I seize the opportunity between the closing hour and when we are picked from school. Among my assignments, the first subject I usually pick is Verbal Reasoning because it is interesting.
Kolade Oladapo, Pry 4
I get to know more about a topic when I do my assignments so I do not see them as problems no matter how much or difficult they are. I think one of the things that help me again is that I do not wait until I get back home before doing assignments if I do, I might have become so tired that I would not be at my best. I solve the simple ones as soon as I have time to do it while I ask for either my sister’s or mother’s help for the difficult questions.
