He added that to put an end to economic hardship, the country must encourage local manufacturing of products and industrialization Adding to that, to improve the economy of the country, the services sector, including ICT, finance, and real estate, must be strengthened.
Adeyemi noted that economic hardship can lead to problems including income inequality, poverty levels, and limited access to basic amenities such as education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
In his speech, the founder of the Bamidele Omosehin Foundation, Bamidele Omosehin, explained that the event is organised to reflect on the current economic and security challenges in Nigeria.

“The Bamidele Omosehin Foundation has made critical intervention in so many humanitarian situations in the life of the needy, orphans, widows and indigent students
“Some of these interventions include the distribution of food items to the needy to alleviate hardship, organising medical outreach, and paying for the West Africa Senior Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fees of indigent students from public secondary schools in Ondo,” he concluded.
In his remarks, the convener of the event, Olufowobi Olarewaju Desmond, also explained that the colloquium is a timely response to the economic and social crisis in Nigeria, as well as the current increase in security challenges in Nigeria.
He said, “I am delighted to welcome each and every one of you to the maiden edition of the Bamidele Omosehin Colloquium organised to mark high chief Bamidele Omosehin’s birthday.
This colloquium is a timely response to the economic and social crisis in Nigeria, as well as the current increase in security challenges in Nigeria.
“These realities have made it impossible and an incentive to throw parties and wine while we, as people, are faced with all these daunting challenges.
In his brief remarks, another speaker at the event, Dr. Dayo Ademuleyi, speaks on governance efficiency and the role of technology.
He emphasised the importance of an automated system of government where Nigerians can rely more on technology than bureaucracy, which, according to him, results in corruption, waste of resources, and time.
Ademuleyi, however, advised the government at all levels to consider the use of technology for efficiency and high productivity.
