Ayegun Olojuoro terminus axis is one of the fast population growing areas in Ibadan, Oyo State. Recently, commercial activities were concentrated between Mosalasi bus stop and Ayegun Junction road sides. The occupation of the roadside by foodstuff sellers and commercial motorcycle (okada) riders constitutes a hazard of obstruction to the area.
Furthermore, commercial cab drivers have also created a park at the space in front of the Ayegun Community School to offload and load passengers. Such development might disturb the serene environment that learning requires.
The Oyo State government as a stakeholder in the area owes the responsibility to protect the learning environment for maximum educational gains by the students in the school, in addition to the general environmental orderliness planning of the area. The Oyo state Ministry of Education should in particular be concerned in this matter and should conduct an inspection and monitoring in light of the current issue.
