Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East Senatorial District, on Tuesday, said that the economic hardship of the country has been long planted before the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu came to power.
Meanwhile, Senator Fadahunsi said, for the nearly two weeks now, he has been in his senatorial district for the ongoing voter registration.
Senator Fadahunsi, who made the remark at a press conference held in his country home in Ilase- Ijesha, Osun, said, “Tinubu is a listening person and the current hardship will go down, but as regards the hardship, I will want our people to embrace farming.”

“I am farming, everybody should farm, If there is no hunger, automatically we will be thinking right. The development is coming, what I have seen in the National Assemblies is real, and so on.”
“Automatically, before the end of this year, things will go down. Just recently, when we went for the NEC meeting, he advised the Governors to go deep into the local areas and invest more.”
“That’s an executive order and I am very sure that, any Governor that does not do that will lose his credibility because of the quantum of money being allocated to them.”
‘So, it is left to them; the Federal government cannot do it alone, and whatever they have given to us as regards funds and food items, we are distributing within the next two weeks. You will see us distributing rice again, and this is almost harvest season, we must pile whatever till the dry season and farming season”.
“So, I advise everybody to embrace farming, no matter how little it might be, and let the food production rise, so prices can come down.”
” If you look at our river line areas, you can not see the Yoruba boys farming,, you will only see all those Hausas and so on, where are our own boys in Yoruba land?”.
“Although around this area, we have already advised them to go in to farm. If you go to Ife, you will see them around Ife South and Ife North, they are really doing serious farming and we have been distributing seedlings to them.”
“This hardship must come down before the end of the year that is what I can assure you.”
On the ongoing voter registration, he said, “As a reliable and reasonable leader, I am around with my own people on this voter registration. For nearly two weeks now, I have sent persons to supervise the process and thereafter send a status report to me.”
“My senatorial district has not been left behind on this mobilisation. I have personally gone round ensuring that stakeholders that will facilitate the process are actively onboard.”
” Particularly, reaching the Kings (Obas), custodian of cultural heritage and Community leaders. Thereby, arousing the community people to register. Including the long-time settlers in our environment, the Hausa farmers, Fulani herdsmen and the Igedes. They all must register. “
“There are 52 communities in Ibadan having not less than 30,000 Ijesha people, and persons conducting voter registration are sent to get the people registered. Based on the foregoing, it can be boldly affirmed that the registered populace would drastically increase,” he concluded.
