Hardship: Address hunger crisis, PDP member urges Tinubu

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Honourable Bose Rahila Adamu, has made a passionate appeal to the Federal Government to take immediate action to address the concerns of the masses and provide tangible solutions to the underlying issues driving citizens to protest.

Rahila Adamu, a leading aspirant for the position of woman leader in the PDP, in an interview with Tribune Online, condemned the use of police force against protesters emphasising that resorting to violence against one’s citizens does not serve the nation’s best interests.

She expressed deep concern over reports of protesters being harmed or killed, insisting that the government’s role should be to protect and not to oppress its people. She, however, called on President Bola Tinubu to take urgent steps to address the growing hunger crisis and other critical issues that are contributing to the rising discontent among Nigerians while warning that if the issues are not resolved, the situation could escalate which could lead to the citizens take up arms in desperation.

“The current state of unrest is a clear indication that Nigerians are frustrated and demand change and it is the government’s responsibility to respond with compassion and effective action. The government should listen to people’s grievances and implement policies that will alleviate their suffering.

While advocating for a country where citizens’ needs are provided by the government, she demanded a peaceful resolution to the ongoing protests and urged the government to act swiftly to restore hope and stability in the nation.
