GWR: Nigerian lecturer begins 150-hour marathon lecture

Dr Nsikak Akpan, Provost of Foreign Links College, has begun a 150-hour marathon lecture to break the existing record held by Indian Professor Arvin Mishra since 2014.

“I want to give back to the academic environment and raise awareness about the consequences of environmental abuse on human health,” Dr Akpan disclosed.

Guinness World Records officials will monitor the lecture to verify the record attempt.

If successful, Dr Akpan will become the first Nigerian lecturer to achieve this feat.

Dr Akpan is an alumnus of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

As of Wednesday afternoon, Dr Akpan had lectured for 54 hours, with 96 hours remaining to break the record.
