GUNMEN, on Thursday, invaded Rumache Madalla in Bassa, in Kukoki ward of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, killed three residents and abducted scores of others.
Those injured in the daylight attack are receiving treatment at various medical facilities in the area.
Co-convener of an indigenous group, Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki, who confirmed the attack on Friday in a statement, said the attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, came into the community in their numbers and unleashed mayhem on the unsuspecting inhabitants.

According to Kokki, during the attack, about three people were shot and killed while scores of others were abducted.
Those who sustained multiple gunshot injuries, he said, “are currently on admission at various medical facilities within relatively secure areas of the local government responding to treatment.”
He said: “Kidnapping for ransom has become a common occurrence in our locality. It is quite unfortunate that we have been forced to coexist with this sad reality. We are being killed, maimed, raped and subjected to other inhuman conditions by marauding terrorists.
“These rampaging criminals attack their victims at will, unfortunately, in many cases without the slightest hindrance or resistance by conventional security.
