Stakeholders from across Anambra Central Senatorial District have adopted and endorsed Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, as consensus candidates for the November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election.
The endorsement was made at an event that attracted more than 10,000 party faithful and supporters at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, on Saturday.
The occasion brought together political leaders, community heads, youth representatives, and women’s groups from across seven local government areas and 109 wards in the district, all rallying behind Governor Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Ibezim.

Key figures in attendance included members of the State Legislature, traditional rulers, and other dignitaries, all emphasizing the need for continuity in governance.
Addressing the audience, Governor Soludo expressed gratitude for the endorsement and highlighted the achievements of his administration since assuming office.
He noted that, under successive administrations, Anambra has successfully entrenched a zoning system in its political landscape.
While advocating for continued respect for this system, the Governor emphasized the significant strides his administration has made in education, healthcare, and infrastructure, pointing to ongoing projects that he said are laying a solid foundation for Anambra’s future.
Earlier, Deputy Governor Dr. Ibezim echoed the Governor’s sentiments, stressing the importance of collaboration among all sectors of the community.
Other prominent voices at the event, including Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu; Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Okoye; APGA State Chairman, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye; Chief Osita Chidoka; Chief Dozie Nwankwo; Dr. Ifeanyi Okoye; and several others, also reaffirmed their support for Governor Soludo to continue his transformational governance for another four-year term.
The event concluded with the conferment of a chieftaincy title, “Oluatuegwu,” on Governor Soludo, as well as a call to action for Ndị Anambra to participate actively in the upcoming election and ensure that their voices are heard at the polls.
As the countdown to the November 8 gubernatorial election begins, this endorsement marks a pivotal moment in Anambra’s political landscape, setting the stage for what promises to be a vibrant electoral contest centered on accountability, development, and community engagement.
