THE Useful Youth Vision Concept (UYVC) an NGO, has urged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to champion the fight against crime and corruption at their various places of primary assignment.
The Executive Director of the group, Mrs Adetokunbo Shonibare, gave the advice in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja.
Shonibare said that the fight against corruption could not be left for the government or NGOs alone, adding that the fight should cut across all spheres of leadership including the youths.

She tasked the corps members and good-spirited Nigerians to put action to motion in curbing the socio-economic monster called corruption.
“This call is very important as corps members are part of the population of energetic and youthful Nigerian youths.
“The corps members are also part of the crop of the youth which the present leaders will hand over power to.
“Consequently, the corps members should sustain their present tempo of contributions to national development in all ramifications, including the fight against corruption.
“The socio-economic monster (corruption) has been the clog in the wheel of even development of the nation,’’ Shonibare said.
Shonibare extolled the virtues of the NYSC scheme which had been in existence for more than four decades.
She said that the group would ensure adequate support of the scheme as well as all youth-related activities.
She also urged corps members to regard any part of Nigeria as home.
“Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is one of the peaceful states in the country as well as one of the most corps member-friendly states in the country.
“So, you should always feel at home and strive to make Nigeria better than you met it.
“You should also always ponder on the best ways to make Nigeria more peaceful, united and socio-economically affluent,’’ Shonibare said.
