ALHAJI Zubairu Sulaiman, the Spokesman of Jigawa State Ministry of Commerce, Industries and Cooperatives, says the Kano-Jigawa-Daura-Zinder (KAJIDAZ) trade corridor is set to inaugurate three sub-committees to boost business activities in Nigeria and Niger Republic.
Sulaiman confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse on Wednesday.
He said that Alhaji Sidi Yelleman, the state Commissioner for Commerce, who is the Chairman of the technical unit of the trade corridor, gave the indication during a meeting with the committee members on Tuesday.
According to Sulaiman, Yellemen noted that the inauguration of the committees had become imperative due to some of the challenges faced by marketers in exporting and importing goods from Nigeria to the Niger Republic.
The spokesman added that the commissioner listed the committees to be inaugurated as those of transportation and travelling surveillance, security and business development and animals import and export.
According to him, members of the committees have pledged their continued support to the establishment of the committees for the success of the trade corridor.

NAN recalls that the KAJIDAZ trade corridor was launched on Sept. 29, 2016, by Nigeria/Niger Joint Commission for Cooperation (NNJC) in Jigawa.
Gov. Muhammad Badaru had during the ceremony, promised to provide all the needed infrastructure to ensure the viability of the cross-border trade between Kano-Jigawa-Katsina and Zinder in Niger Republic.
Also, Gov. Umar Ganduje of Kano State, expressed optimism on the cross-border trade, pointing out that it would promote the cultural heritage of the two countries.
Ganduje further explained that the gesture would also foster unity and cooperation.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Zinder, Niger Republic, Alhaji Musa Isah, commended Presidents Muhammadu Buhari and Mohammadu Yusufuou of Nigeria and Niger Republic respectively, for their commitment to the development of the cross-border trade corridor.
