The Ladi Adebutu Development Organization has raised concerns over an enforcement notice reportedly served on one of the properties belonging to Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), located in the Ode-Remo area of Ogun State.
In a statement issued by its Director of Media and Publicity, Afolabi Orekoya, the group alleged that the notice, served by the Ogun State Ministry of Finance, undermines ongoing legal proceedings relating to the property.
Orekoya claimed that the enforcement action forms part of what the group described as an attempt by the government to intimidate and silence opposition figures in the state.
He described the move as a misuse of executive power, noting that the land use and amenity charge on the said property has been the subject of litigation at the High Court of Justice, Sagamu, since 2018 and is currently the focus of two separate suits.
According to Orekoya, the matter in Suit No. HCS/275/2018—Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu vs. Land Use and Amenities Charge Committee, Ogun State Ministry of Finance—has been scheduled for hearing on October 8, 2025.
Another case, Suit No. HCS/409/2024, involving the same parties, remains pending without a scheduled court date.
The group’s statement reads in part: “It is therefore laughable and contemptuous of the judiciary for the government and its agents to attempt to enforce charges that are currently being contested in competent courts of law.
“We must remind the public that, by law, the Ministry of Finance cannot unilaterally impose land use charges without proper assessment of the property, in line with the Land Use and Amenities Charge Laws of Ogun State. In this particular case, the notice was merely posted on the property without due process, hence the ongoing litigation.”

The Ladi Adebutu Development Organization condemned what it termed a “reckless abuse of power,” and urged the Ogun State Government to refrain from using state agencies in ways that may be perceived as politically motivated.
“We urge the government to focus its energy on delivering good governance, quality infrastructure, and essential services to the people of Ogun State, rather than engaging in actions that can be viewed as intimidation of political opponents.
“We also call on the people of Ogun State to remain vigilant and to see through what appears to be a political tactic.”
