Grant Master’s school announces winners of inaugural, second cohort pitch contests

As part of its efforts to transform ideas into funded realities in Nigeria, the Grant Success School (GSS), the flagship training programme of the Grant Master, has announced the winners of its inaugural and second cohort pitch contests.

The Grant Master is a professional and skilled researching and writing of grant proposals company that is out to train clients and students as well as empower entrepreneurs and NGOs to secure grant funding for their projects, businesses, and innovations, among others.

The Grant Master launched the Grant Success School to democratise access to grant-writing expertise and invest in the future of Nigeria’s entrepreneurial and social impact ecosystem. The programme transforms complete beginners into skilled grant writers through its proven methodology.

Meanwhile, the Grant Success School is a grant writing training programme and challenge that targets small business owners, startup founders, NGO leaders, and aspiring entrepreneurs seeking to secure grant funding.

The CEO of the firm and lead instructor at GSS, Mr. OlugbengaOgunbowale, said “the initiative aims to transform grant writing in Nigeria while providing an opportunity to redefine the country’s entrepreneurial and non-profit sectors.”

His words: “Grant Success School represents our commitment to equipping African entrepreneurs and nonprofits with the skills and confidence to secure the funding they need.

He disclosed that the outstanding entrepreneurs and change makers of the inaugural and second cohort pitch contests had secured significant funding and support, furthering their mission to drive social and economic impact across Africa.

“The winners exemplify the power of purpose-driven leadership, and we are proud to support them in their journeys,” he stressed.

He hinted that “at the inaugural cohort, the co-founder of GoEcoEnergy, Olamide Atoyebi, emerged as the grand prize winner, securing ₦1 million to advance sustainable clean energy solutions.

Other top winners, according to him, include a creative economy lawyer supporting African creatives,  Foza Fawehinmi; founder of Betharbel Free Elementary School for IDPs, MonisolaAiyekusehin, among others.

He added that “the stakes were higher in the second cohort, with Ezinne Nwodo carting off a $3.2 million grand prize package as an education and tech innovation specialist, Amarachi Ogbu, emerged as the first runner up, and the founder of Learn Politics, Nigeria, Victoria Oladipo, came up as the second runner up.

“Aside from the cash prizes, winners from the second cohort bagged mentoring from industry leaders, access to high-value networking events, and priority grant proposal reviews.”

In his remarks at the end of the two cohorts, Ogunbowale noted that the exceptional leaders exemplified the transformative power of combining purpose with skill.

“Through Grant Success School, they’ve not only mastered grant writing but have positioned themselves to create lasting impact in their communities,” he stressed.

The high point of the second cohort was the launch of Grant Master’s ‘Change Agents to Watch’ series, spotlighting the next generation of impact leaders.

Speaking further on the activities of the Grant Success School, Ogunbowale said: “Since its inception, Grant Success School has helped its students and clients secure over $30 million in grants, leveraging its world-class instructors and practical applications.”

He also stated that the four-week curriculum of the training covers essential grant writing skills, from understanding funding landscapes to mastering proposal development and interview techniques.

“The curriculum covers 20 essential modules, from basic grant terminology to advanced proposal writing and interview techniques. Students receive personal feedback on every assignment and gain lifetime access to course materials.

“Grant Master is recognised for its innovative approach to grant consulting and training and is backed by heavyweights such as Mastercard and USADF,’ the CEO added.
