A governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Ayodeji Karim, has condemned the disruption of the congress held at the party’s secretariat at Oke-Ado, Ibadan by some miscreants, describing its as unacceptable and equally disappointing.
Karim, who is the Managing Director of Costain PLC, Lagos, said this while addressing newsmen in Ibadan in the aftermath of the APC congresses which were reported to have been marred by violence nationwide.
It was alleged that some armed thugs, numbering about 150, were led by an APC chieftain in the state to disrupt the activities at the ongoing ward congress and a stakeholder’s meeting.
Karim in a plea to all members of the party and stakeholders, however, said the party had shown the need for peace in the state, noting that it was one of the achievements of the Abiola Ajimobi-led administration.
