The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed his condolences on the passing of the Wazirin Cham, Baba KK Cham, who died on April 8, 2023, after battling an illness.
In his message of condolence, Governor Yahaya praised the late elder statesman for his leadership qualities and exemplary character as a respected community leader and senior member of the traditional council.
The governor also acknowledged the contributions of the deceased to the growth and development of Gombe State as a whole through his distinguished service in various government ministries, departments, and agencies.
According to the statement issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director-General of Press Affairs at the Government House, the late Wazirin Cham was a retired top civil servant who worked in various capacities from defunct Northern Nigeria, North Eastern State, and former Bauchi State, where he retired as an Assistant Director.
The late elder statesman also served in various appointive positions, including a board member at Bauchi State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Gombe State Board of Internal Revenue, and Gombe Media Corporation, among others.
Governor Yahaya extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Nidu-gra Cham, and the entire Cham community on their loss.
He also prayed that the Almighty God grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and provide comfort and strength to those he left behind during this difficult time.
