Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing remodelling of the IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna.
The governor inspected the hospital’s expansion and commended the contractors handling the project for a job well done.
Umaru Bago also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to revamping the health sector to ensure citizens have access to quality healthcare services.
Earlier, the governor declared a state of emergency in the health sector and consequently embarked on rigorous renovations, reconstructions, and remodelling of health institutions across the state.
The IBB Specialist Hospital, Minna, is undergoing a total remodelling. Sections such as the Emergency/Accident Unit, General Outpatients Department, Intensive Care Unit, Doctors’ Call Rooms/Nurses’ Stations, and VIP Units have already been fully renovated and equipped with modern medical facilities.

The emergency unit and VIP wards have likewise been remodelled and equipped, while two semi-detached two-bedroom doctors’ quarters, a 42,000-litre overhead water tank, and an additional motorised borehole have also been completed.
Other improvements include the procurement of an Elizer machine for blood screening, in line with recommendations by the Nigerian National Blood Services, the acquisition of a new 100 KV generator for the NNPC Multipurpose Diagnostic Centre, and a 300 KVA transformer, among several other machines.
