THE Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, yesterday, sworn-in 19 new commissioners in the state.
Obiano, while swearing in the new commissioners on Monday at the Government House Awka, charged them to leave their marks in their respective ministries and to help support the Government to actualised the vision of the state.
He said, “You are the privileged group that has the opportunity to make names for yourselves. I want to remind all of you that this appointment is not business as usual.
“We shall not tolerate any sharp practice or corruption of any type. Neither shall we accept indolence late coming to work or laziness. You have been called to duty to help distribute the dividend of democracy to the people of the state.
“At this moment, I charge you all to be good ambassadors of the people and your various Ministries.
You must ensure that ongoing projects in your ministries must be completed in when due, Obiano advised.
The commissioners were sworn in and their portfolios are Hon. C. Don Adinuba (Information and enlightenment); Hon. Afam Mbanefo (Agric and mechanization ), Prof. Kate Omenugha, (Basic Education); Mr Bonaventure Enamali (Youths and Entrepreneurship); Hon. Obi Nwankwo (Public Utilities ); and Greg Obi (Local Government Affairs).
Others are Mrs Sally Mbanefo (Artwork, Tourism and Diaspora ), Christian Madubuko (Trade and Commerce); Hon. Uche Okafor (Transport); Mrs Ndidi Mezue (Women and Children Affairs); Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne(Housing); Dr Obiekezie Theresa Nkechi (Tertiary and Science Education); Hon. Mike Okonkwo (Environment and Beautification); Hon. Nnamdi Onukwuba (Lands); Hon. Marcel Ifejiofor (Works); Mrs Uju Nwogu (Justice), Hon. Ifeatu Onejeme (Finance), Hon. Mark Okoye (Economic Planning and Budgeting and Dr Joe Akabuike (for Ministry of Health).
