Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has further reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring free and quality education in primary and post-primary schools in the state.

Governor Fintiri made the commitment during the inauguration of a scholarship scheme for 40 students admitted into federal government colleges and an empowerment project for 360 elders, youths, and women sponsored by Song Local Government Area.

He said the government had taken off the shoulders of parents the responsibility of paying NECO and WAEC fees for them to acquire formal education.

Represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the governor said children, especially girls, should be allowed to complete school before getting married.

“Government is determined to ensure that no child in Adamawa State is deprived of education at all levels.”

“As a state, we have made significant improvements in public schools in the areas of equipment, construction of classrooms, laboratories, books, free mobility, and free feeding to make teaching and learning easier,” he said.

In his remarks, the chairman of the council, Idris Yahaya, called on parents to register their children at nearby public schools and to actively monitor their children’s academic and moral development.

Yahaya promised to continue supporting education through the expansion of educational initiatives of the council.

Ardo Sani Mohammadu, the Fulani leader of Dauchi village, where the foundation for the construction of a school was laid, appreciated the government for establishing modern schools for their children.

The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta, presented books and other writing materials to students in Song Local Government Area.
