Gov Bala pledges to build official residence for Bauchi Police Commissioner

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has assured the State Police Command that his administration will build a befitting residence for the Commissioner of Police.

The Governor also promised that other top-ranking officers of the Command would benefit from the gesture through the total renovation of their official quarters, in order to create an enabling environment for them to maintain law and order, as well as effectively police the State.

Bala Mohammed made the promise when he formally welcomed the newly posted Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, to the State at the Governor’s Office on Wednesday. He was accompanied by the immediate past Commissioner, now Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Auwal Musa Mohammed.

The Governor also pledged to provide full support in whatever form to the Command, in order to maintain the long-standing peace and peaceful coexistence prevailing in the State.

He also thanked the outgoing Commissioner of Police, M.M. Auwal, for his hard work and dedication to professional duties, ensuring the security of the State during his tenure.

The outgoing Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, had earlier introduced the new Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, to the Governor, Deputy Governor, and other government officials at the meeting.

He assured the new Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, that Bala Mohammed is a friendly and supportive leader who prioritises security, urging him to always liaise with the Governor on any security issues.

In his brief remarks, Sani-Omolori Aliyu commended the robust and cordial relationship between the Government and the Police Command, based on what he observed on the ground.

He then assured that he would build on the positive aspects of the relationship, while soliciting cooperation and support in order to effectively police the entire State.
