Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi has directed a thorough investigation into the alleged molestation and maltreatment of People Living with Disabilities (PWDs) by security personnel at the government house gate during a protest.
The PWDs had gathered to demand attention from the government, citing the impact of the country’s hardship on their lives.
Despite their peaceful approach, they were prevented from accessing the Governor’s Office and allegedly ill-treated by security agencies.
The Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, condemned the incident and assured that the officers involved would be held accountable if found to have acted improperly.
Governor Mohammed has reiterated his commitment to upholding justice, fairness, and human rights, urging the public to remain calm and abide by rules and regulations during and after demonstrations.
