Niger State Governor, Mohammed Bago has promised to construct a dual carriageway in Agaie as part of his urban renewal policy.

Governor Bago stated this when he paid Sallah homage to the Emir of Agaie, Alhaji Yusuf Nuhu in continuation of his visit to Emirate Councils in the state on the Celebration of Eid-El-Kabir.

The Governor said a team of experts will soon visit the Emirate to assess with a view to coming up with a plan for the project.

He called for the understanding and support of the people as the implementation of his policies and programmes might come with some discomfort for some time.

The Governor also promised to facilitate the establishment of more commercial banks in Agaie, empower women and provide fertilizer as well as farm implements for increased food production.

He reiterated his commitment towards ensuring the rapid development of the state in line with the policy thrusts of his administration.

“We have promised people urban renewal and we are continuing with our visitation to all the Emirates to celebrate with the people and the emirates for the Sallah celebration.

“However we have also come to reiterate our promise to provide infrastructure like hospitals and roads. We are still on it and work will commence in earnest, he said.

Earlier, the Emir of Agaie, Alh. Yusuf Nuhu expressed his delight with the Governor’s visit and promised him their unalloyed support for the success of his administration.

The Governor and the Emir thereafter entered into a closed-door meeting with the Emir and afterwards, joined the residents of the town at the pavilion to kick start the Sallah Durbar.

The Governor was in the company of his Deputy, Comrade Yakubu Garba, Secretary to the State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Gawu, Chief of Staff, Hon. Usman Abdullahi Gbatamangi, other government officials and some APC stalwarts in the state.
