Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State has received a delegation of businessmen from Russia in Minna, the Niger State capital.

The delegation, made up of representatives from Sber Bank of Russia, the Russian Trade Commission, strategic partners and equipment manufacturers, and Rostselmash, was led by Mr. Peter, commercial attaché, Russian Trade Commission.

The delegation was on a fact-finding mission to Niger State as a follow-up to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Niger State government and Sber Bank on agriculture and mining.

Governor Umaru Bago described their visit as a show of commitment to agreement, noting that his trip to Russia is beginning to yield positive results.

He expressed his excitement, maintaining that the Russian delegation’s visit is the beginning of a good future for the state.

The state governor thanked them for the visit and assured them that he would continue to do a follow-up for the success of the partnership and others on telemedicine and education.

Chairman of Niger Foods, Mr. Sammy Adigun, said the delegation has gone round some farms in the state and has seen the abundant land and water resources.

The leader of the delegation, Mr Peter Arseniev, who is also the commercial attaché of the Russian Trade Commission, and other members, who took turns to speak on their experience in the state, described it as exciting, interesting, and fruitful.

They appreciated the State governor and the management of Niger Foods for the opportunity to have firsthand knowledge of the state’s vast agricultural potential and capacity.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the partnership and unlocking the vast resources for sustainable growth.

A gala night was organised by the state government in honour of the delegation, where they had a sumptuous meal and were entertained with traditional and cultural performances by various cultural troupes.
