Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved the constitution of the Gombe State Committee on the Distribution of Fertilizer for the 2025 farming season.
The committee is tasked with ensuring a transparent, efficient, and equitable distribution of fertilizer to farmers across the state.
According to a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, the committee will be chaired by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives, while other members include key stakeholders drawn from various sectors of government, civil society, and security agencies.

The full composition of the committee is as follows: Commissioner, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives – Chairman; Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development; Special Adviser on Agriculture and Farmer-Herder Coordination; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health; Dr. Ibrahim Yakubu Usman; and Representative of Civil Society Organizations – Members.
Other members are: Representative of People with Disabilities; Chairman, House Committee on Agriculture; Chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Gombe State Chapter; Representative of the Nigeria Police Force; Representative of the Department of State Services (DSS); Representative of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC); while Director of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture – Secretary.
The SSG stated that the establishment of this committee is in line with Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s commitment to transparency and ensuring that all eligible farmers across the state have access to necessary inputs in the farming season.
