In response to escalating food prices, political commentator Reno Omokri advised Nigerians to adopt self-sufficiency practices rather than vent frustrations online.
In a post on social media platform X, Omokri emphasised practical solutions such as poultry farming and backyard gardening to mitigate the high cost of living.
Omokri highlighted that simply criticizing the government does not alleviate personal hardships.
“If a crate of eggs is now too expensive for you, the solution is not to come online and attack the government. That is not a solution. That is just emotion,” he stated.

He suggested that individuals raise hens for a steady supply of eggs and cultivate vegetables at home to reduce dependency on the market.
Citing statistics, Omokri noted that 54% of Britain’s population and 51% of Americans engage in home gardening, proposing that Nigerians could similarly benefit from such practices.
“If we in Nigeria also do it, we will not die. Instead, we will thrive!” he asserted, urging citizens to contribute to the economy by becoming more self-reliant.
