As the situation of the country bites harder as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy, clerics, academic, and business experts have charged Christians and Nigerians at large that prayer is not enough to make one rich. But being business-oriented through entrepreneurship skills or small-or large-scale businesses, according to them, is the key to becoming prosperous.
The was the collective submission of speakers at the launching of two books written by Pastor Kola Soladoye, entitled: “How to Start Your Own Business” and “Principles of Wealth Creation”, at the Western Hall, Secretariat, Ibadan, Oyo State, on Saturday.
In his speech, the chairman on the occasion, Professor John Fagbrenro, stressed that it was time Christians took the bull by the horns to be more productive through business as it is backed by the scripture.
The don, who is also a cleric, noted that the only way to live a balanced life as a Christian is by being 50 per cent business-oriented and 50 per cent spiritual, just as he strongly advised Nigerians not to neglect God in all aspect of their lives as it is the secret to prosperous life.
The author, Pastor Soladoye, said he was deeply concerned to write and publish the books to see captains of industries emerging among youths in the light of the true gospel of Jesus Christ, as well as shun all ungodly means to becoming rich.
“I am confident that the books will go a long way to turn mind into an entrepreneur of meaningful significance in the face of jobless situation we find ourselves in our dear nation,” he added.
The book reviewer, Mr Simeon Adeogun, who is a business expert, stressed that it is no news that salary is no longer enough to make ends meet, hence, advised Christian to start or own every business that would had to their income, because it is the only way to prosperity.
“The stage we are now as a nation is to swing into action. Be productive and resourceful through business. If a Christian does not have any business doing, there is high potential to be poor,” he added.
“Christians are good at praying and fasting, but they need to be more productive this time through any business irrespective of any amount. The books is a guide for Christians to manifest in all ramifications,” he added.
