A non-governmental organisation, Lions Club Region 10, has organised free eye care for officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, and FRSC Special Marshals in Ibadan.
The 2-day exercise featured a free eye test/screening, the donation of free eyeglasses, medication, and the treatment of FRSC officials and special marshals with various eye challenges. Free surgeries were also carried out on those who had chronic eye problems.
Speaking, FRSC, Oyo Sector Commander, Rosemary Alo, commended the Lions Club for their vision testing and eyewear provision.
Alo said, “The entire officials of the Oyo State Command say a very good appreciation to the Lions Club for this very laudable initiative of testing the sights of our officials and Special Marshals, giving them glasses when necessary, and even giving them some recommendations for further treatment of their sights.
She added that the eye health initiative will enhance by addressing vision issues that can hinder the performance of the officers.
According to her, the initiative that was held for the officials at the FRSC Oyo state command, Eleyele, and Ibadan would add to the value-added services from the officials who have gotten the treatment.
Speaking District Governor, District 404B4, Taiwo Fatoki explained that the initiative is part of the club’s area of focus.
He said by providing screening and spectacles to the FRSC officials and Special Marshals, we are taking a vital step towards promoting eye health and ensuring that everyone has access to good eye health

Also speaking, Region Chairman, Lions Club, Ibadan, Femi Phillips, stated that By providing free eye screening and spectacles to the officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps, the club is taking a vital step towards promoting eye health and ensuring that everyone has access to good eye health.
Adding that the initiative is also meant to assist in detecting vision problems that may affect the officials’ sight.
