The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Sector Command, has convicted 35 people for various traffic offences during a mobile court sitting.

The Mobile Court session was presided over by Chief Magistrate OT, Odubanjo, who heard cases involving offenders apprehended during special enforcement operations carried out by FRSC personnel within the Command’s operational corridors.

According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, Odunsi Afolabi, 21 offenders were arraigned before the court, of which 20 were convicted, while 1 was discharged.

He explained that a total of 65 traffic offences were recorded against the offenders, while no offender was sentenced to imprisonment.

The mobile court was conducted peacefully, devoid of any issue, as armed personnel were provided to ensure the smooth conduct of the
exercise.

The offences prosecuted included Seatbelt Violation (SUV), Speed Limit Device Violation (SLD), driver’s licence violation (DLV), Overloading (OVL), Tyre Violation (TYY), Vehicle Licence Violation (VLV), Number Plate Violation (NPV), and other related traffic offences.

The Sector Commander, Corps Commander Akinwunmi Fasakin, reaffirmed that the exercise was aimed at ensuring motorists comply with traffic regulations in a bid to reduce traffic fatalities to the barest minimum through enforcement in the State.
