Four female Kwara students get cash rewards for excelling in maths, economics

Four female students of Cherubim and Seraphim Secondary School, Sabo-Oke, Ilorin, Kwara State, have received cash awards for excellence in mathematics and economics subjects.

The cash awards of N100,000 each were presented by a leading real estate agent, Quick Access, to two outstanding Senior Secondary School 1 and two Senior Secondary School 2 students as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR).

Speaking during the presentation ceremony held on the school premises, the Chief Operating Officer of the real estate agent, Mrs Bolanle Ojo, said that the organisation is committed to supporting education as a cornerstone of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The COO, who described education as the foundation for societal transformation and equipping future leaders, added that the CEO of the organisation, Bolatito Ojo, was a beneficiary of the FG scholarship in 2002.

She also said that the commitment to supporting academic excellence was aimed at giving back to society.

The recipients included Ampitan Deborah, who emerged as the best student in mathematics, and Ibrahim Olayemi Aishat, the best SS1 student in economics.

Additionally, Bello Adesewa Susan and Isiaku Serah Mercy, who emerged as the best students in mathematics and economics at SS2, respectively, also received cash awards of N100,000 each.

The COO of the organisation also emphasised the company’s vision to transform rural areas into urban centres through a unique credit system, enabling people to purchase properties and pay over a 10-year period. With 81 locations across six states and 10 branches in Nigeria,.

Also speaking, the school principal, Mrs Folashade Abifarin, expressed her gratitude to Quick Access Micro and Macro Limited for their generosity, acknowledging the significant impact of their cash awards on the student’s academic journey.

She appealed to the government to take decisive action to rescue the education sector from the looming threat of decline, emphasising the imperative need to safeguard the value and integrity of education for future generations.

“This noble gesture by Quick Access Micro and Macro Limited is a testament to the company’s commitment to giving back to society and supporting the development of future leaders.”.

The occasion was witnessed by parents, educators, community leaders, and education stakeholders, among others.
